Simplicity Versus The Technopile Junkies

Every Thursday I post my thoughts about simple living, particularly how writers can take advantage of voluntary simplicity to find happiness, peace, and even success.

Today’s post will be brief, as this is the first day of NaNoWriMo, and I have a crush of work to do. Next week I’ll have a post about simple library plans, and you won’t want to miss that one.

One of the weblogs I read on a regular basis is Zen Habits, written by Leo Babauta. Leo is inspirational, and I find a lot of insight in his articles. Leo and I seem to think alike in many areas, particularly about voluntary simplicity. However, Leo’s weblog is a lot more visited than mine is–at the moment, anyway.

Apparently, successful bloggers are assumed to be technophile junkies, which is one of the opposites of living simply. Recently I read an interview of Leo in a series called “Bloggers Cribs”, and the interviewer was obviously not familiar with Leo, his work, or the idea that some people might not be obsessed with buying more more more. As the interview goes on, the questions become more and more hilarious, when you consider Leo’s previous answers.

One Response to Simplicity Versus The Technopile Junkies

    Hi T.F

I just want to point out that the questions are the same for all participants, and the reason I included Leo was exactly that to provide a n interesting counterpoint to Technophile’s like myself!
