Taxi Adventure, a novel by T.F. Torrey

You've taken taxi rides before—you know the drill. You get in, the seat springs are worn flat, the car sags to one side, the driver doesn't look like his picture and he doesn't seem to know his way around the city, and eventually you get where you're going and he doesn't have change. Taxi Adventure was my project for the 2007 Three-Day Novel Contest. I had a great time in the contest, and the story became a lot of fun, but, alas, my effort came up short. In the coming months, I'll be finishing the manuscript and working to get it into print. Until then, read my recaps of the Three-Day Contest here, and watch for further developments.

Taxi Adventure has become a good story, but like most other writing projects, it has evolved to be much more elaborate and textured and complicated and nuanced than my original vision, and like practically everything else in the world, it has taken much longer to finish than I hoped. Be that as it may, the work is drawing to a close, and keep an eye on this space for character profiles, previews, and, hopefully sometime very soon, publication information.
